Legacy Society

The Indian Law Resource Center Legacy Society honors people who have made gifts to the Indian Law Resource Center through bequests, charitable annuities, trusts, insurance policies and other estate planning vehicles.

Friends who are making legacy gifts to the Center in their estate and financial plans will fulfill their philanthropic goals by helping:

  • Provide legal assistance to indigenous peoples of the Americas.
  • Address ongoing needs and expansion of programs.
  • Increase endowment funds.
  • Benefits of Membership

The greatest benefit of belonging to the Legacy Society is the satisfaction of knowing that your long-range plans will help indigenous peoples receive the advantages of the Center’s services in perpetuity.

As a member, you will also receive these special benefits:

  • A specially framed copy of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
  • Recognition in the society’s membership roster (with your permission, or as anonymous).
  • Becoming a Member

You become a member of the society when you indicate in writing that you have made an estate gift to the Indian Law Resource Center.

    Some gifts that qualify are:

  • Making a bequest in a will or trust designating a specific percentage, amount or remainder.
  • Naming the Center as beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
  • Creating a charitable annuity or trust that provides a remainder to the Center.
  • Naming the Center as a beneficiary of an IRA or other retirement plan.
  • Many other gifts such as real estate, mineral rights or patents may qualify as well.
